Summer Programs

We offer 3 summer programs to best meet your child's academic needs: K-2 Reading Intensive classes, reading/math intensives, and dyslexia therapy.

Scheduling

Summer: June 2nd - July 31st

*CLOSED June 30th - July 3rd

Families enrolling in private 1:1 classes can choose between a 2 day (Mon/Wed; Tues/Thurs) or 4 day (Mon-Thurs) schedule.

Our K-2 Reading Intensive program is only offered in a 4 day (Mon-Thurs) option.

*Note: It is recommended that students who are well below grade level be enrolled in the 4 day option to provide the greatest amount of support over the summer.

Scheduling is available on first come, first served basis. Spaces are limited.

 

Registration

To secure enrollment, a $500 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of registration. Deposit will be credited towards balance.

2024 Small Group: Summer Intensive Program

Small group intensive reading program (k-2)

Our summer reading intensive curriculum is offered in an 8 week program, designed for students in kinder-2nd grade with learning difficulties. Each class is 50 minutes in length.

  • maximum of 4 students per group

  • 50 minute classes

  • 4 days/week

This summer program is best for students who continue to struggle with reading skills such as letter identification, blending/decoding letter(s) into words, high frequency words, fluency, vocabulary, and/or comprehension.

Each student will be administered a diagnostic reading assessment by our reading specialists and/or therapists that will help determine appropriate levels of instruction as well as identify learning strengths and weaknesses.

2024 Summer Private 1-1: Intensive Programs

 

Reading Intensive reading Summer Program (K-12)

Our summer reading intensive curriculum is offered in an 8 week, private 1-on-1 tutoring program, designed for students in kinder-12th grade with learning difficulties. Each class is 55 minutes in length. While we specialize in working with students with dyslexia and other learning challenges, a formal diagnosis/identification is not required. This program is offered in a 2 day or 4 day/week format (Mon/Wed, Tues/Thurs, or Mon-Thurs).

This summer program is best for students who continue to struggle with reading skills such as:

  • letter identification

  • blending/decoding letter(s) into words

  • high frequency words

  • fluency

  • vocabulary and/or

  • comprehension.

Each student will receive a learning plan created by our reading specialists and therapists that is specific to their individual needs. In order to help us establish a starting place for instruction, we will provide a placement assessment that is included in our program. At the end of the program, we will provide a post-assessment to show progress made and the skills addressed.

summer Math Intensive Program (k-12)

Our summer math intensive curriculum is offered in an 8 week 1-on-1 tutoring program, designed for students in kinder-12th grade with learning difficulties. Each class is 55 minutes in length. While we specialize in working with students with math learning challenges, a formal learning disability diagnosis/identification is not required. This program is offered in a 2 day or 4 day/week format (Mon/Wed, Tues/Thurs, or Mon-Thurs).

This summer program is best for students who continue to struggle with mastering basic math facts, place value, computation, fractions, decimals, measurements, and/or word problems. Students with learning difficulties, often:

  • demonstrate slow or inaccurate recall of basic math facts

  • answer problems impulsively, without inhibition

  • have difficulty representing mathematical concepts

  • have poorly developed number sense; and/or

  • have difficulty keeping information in their working memory (National Council of Teachers of Mathematics)

Summer Dyslexia Therapy Program

Dyslexia therapy program (K-12th grade)

Our summer dyslexia therapy program is offered in an 8 week private 1-on-1 program, designed for students in kinder-12th grade identified with dyslexia, taught by credentialed dyslexia specialists and therapists.

  • Prescriptive intervention plan

  • 55 minute classes

  • 2 or 4 days per week (Mon/Wed, Tues/Thurs, or Mon-Thurs)

Who should enroll?

This summer program is best for students who have been identified with dyslexia and are needing to begin a therapy program or continue and extend learning from the school year.

Our dyslexia specialists and therapists have been trained in a number of programs to best accommodate students who have started dyslexia therapy programs at school.
