2024 Summer Private 1-1: Intensive Programs

 

Reading Intensive reading Summer Program (K-12)

Our summer reading intensive curriculum is offered in an 8 week, private 1-on-1 tutoring program, designed for students in kinder-12th grade with learning difficulties. Each class is 55 minutes in length. While we specialize in working with students with dyslexia and other learning challenges, a formal diagnosis/identification is not required. This program is offered in a 2 day or 4 day/week format (Mon/Wed, Tues/Thurs, or Mon-Thurs).

This summer program is best for students who continue to struggle with reading skills such as:

  • letter identification

  • blending/decoding letter(s) into words

  • high frequency words

  • fluency

  • vocabulary and/or

  • comprehension.

Each student will receive a learning plan created by our reading specialists and therapists that is specific to their individual needs. In order to help us establish a starting place for instruction, we will provide a placement assessment that is included in our program. At the end of the program, we will provide a post-assessment to show progress made and the skills addressed.

summer Math Intensive Program (k-12)

Our summer math intensive curriculum is offered in an 8 week 1-on-1 tutoring program, designed for students in kinder-12th grade with learning difficulties. Each class is 55 minutes in length. While we specialize in working with students with math learning challenges, a formal learning disability diagnosis/identification is not required. This program is offered in a 2 day or 4 day/week format (Mon/Wed, Tues/Thurs, or Mon-Thurs).

This summer program is best for students who continue to struggle with mastering basic math facts, place value, computation, fractions, decimals, measurements, and/or word problems. Students with learning difficulties, often:

  • demonstrate slow or inaccurate recall of basic math facts

  • answer problems impulsively, without inhibition

  • have difficulty representing mathematical concepts

  • have poorly developed number sense; and/or

  • have difficulty keeping information in their working memory (National Council of Teachers of Mathematics)
